Mi nombre es Milena Torres, soy de Colombia, Sur América. En mi país trabajo como profesora en la Facultad de Comercio Internacional y Economía en la Universidad Santo Tomas. Estoy muy feliz de estar en Xiamen, de hecho obtuve la beca del Gobierno Chino por segunda vez, pues también tuve una en 2008 en Beijing. Actualmente hago un doctorado en la Facultad de Derecho en Xiamen University.
Tengo el gran placer de ser la única latinoamericana de la facultad de Derecho, de lo cual estoy orgullosa pues los colombianos somos la gente más feliz del mundo, de hecho, una de las características de los colombianos son nuestro entusiasmo y optimismo, de hecho actualmente estoy haciendo gestiones con personas de la Universidad de Xiamen para firmar un convenio de cooperación académica entre mi universidad en Colombia y la de Xiamen.
La impresión que tengo de Xiamen es la mejor, de hecho nuestra Universidad tiene una de las mejores facultades de Derecho en China, tuve la oportunidad de participar en un Foro que la Facultad organizo en octubre sobre Derecho de Aguas, lo cual fue una gran oportunidad pues aprendí las nuevas tendencias en derecho.
He tenido la oportunidad de conocer gente muy amable en la Facultad de Derecho, especialmente la decana, la profesora Linda, la profesora Liu, el profesor Xu Chongli y la profesora Chen, estoy impresionada por su amabilidad y hospitalidad, un ejemplo de ello es que cuando llegue a Xiamen había gente de la Universidad en el aeropuerto dándome la bienvenida.
Yo pienso que esta es la mejor experiencia que he tenido en mi vida, especialmente por el hecho de aprender sobre la cultura china ya que participo en actividades como Chinese Corner y el Equipo Dragon Boat, grandes ocasiones para practicar chino y hacer amigos.
Por todas esas razones recomiendo fuertemente Xiamen University.
My name is Milena Torres, I come from Columbia, South America. In my country I worked as a Professor in the Faculty of International Trade and Economics at Santo Tomas University. I am very happy to be at Xiamen, in fact I got the Chinese Government Scholarship to come to China for a second time, given that I studied my master in Beijing in 2008. Now I am doing a Phd at the Law School of Xiamen University.
I have the pleasure to be the only Latin American from Law School which makes me feel proud because Colombians are the happiest people in the world, in fact, one of the main characteristics of Colombian are their enthusiasm and optimism. Currently I am having talks with Xiamen University staff so that a cooperation agreement between my University in Colombia and Xiamen University can be signed.
The impression that I have from Xiamen University is the best, in fact, our University has one of the best Law Faculties in China, I had the opportunity to participate in the Workshop that the School of Law organized in October about Water Law, and it was a valuable opportunity to learn about the new trends in law.
I have also the chance to meet nice people, especially in Law School for instance the Dean of Law Faculty, the Professor Linda Dong, professor Liu, professor Xu and Professor Chen have been very nice to me, I am impressed by their kindness and hospitality, and the first time I arrived to Xiamen staff was waiting me at the airport to welcome me.
I think this is one of the best experience in my life, especially because I have learned about the Chinese culture by taking part in activities such as the Chinese Corner and the Dragon Boat Team, it has been a good opportunity to improve my Chinese and make new friends. I strongly recommend XIAMEN UNIVERSITY
