He obtained LL.B from East China University of Political Science & Law and Ph. D. from Xiamen University. He was once a visiting scholar at University College London (2012) and the University of Oxford (2015).

He’s also been a coach of international moot court competitions including Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, and Red Cross International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Moot.
