Zhou Dongping, male, Born in June 1961 in Zhouning County, Fujian Province. During 1982 to 1993, I have earned bachelor, master, doctor degree in history from Xiamen University where I went on to hold a post as Assistant Tutor, Assistant Professor, Vice Professor, Professor, the Tutor of Doctor of School of Law in sequence since 1985. Between 1995 and 1997, I was invited to Faculty of Literature, Bukkyo University, Japan as Visiting Researcher, and to Institution for Research in Humanities, Kyoto University, Japan as Visiting Scholar from 1997 through 1998. In 2010, I was employed as Visiting Professor by Kyoto University, Japan.
My major field of research is history of Chinese legal system focusing especially on the period of Sui and Tang, as well as theory of criminology and its application in China. The academic achievements I have made include publishing Legal System History of China (as editor in chief), New Theory of Criminology (as author), together with tens of related dissertations, managing or participating projects such as National Foundation of Philosophy and Social Science Project, giving lectures on History of Chinese Legal System, Studies on Chinese Law History, History of Chinese Criminal Law, and Criminology, etc.
