Professor ZHU works in the fields of environmental law and oceans law, specializing in international trade and environmental protection, regulations addressing marine pollution and climate change. She teaches the courses of Basic Environmental Law, Study on International Environmental Law, and she also teaches some courses conducted in English, including, Introduction to Chinese Legal System, Marine Policy and International Oceans Law.
Professor Zhu is the director of Xiamen University Law School Center for Environmental and Energy Law, member of Standing Committee of Chinese Society for Environmental and Resources Law. She serves as an adjunct professor of Xiamen University Coastal and Ocean Management Institute, an arbitrator with the Xiamen Arbitration Commission and the Quanzhou Arbitration Commission, and, a legislative consultant of Xiamen Municipal Government. Professor Zhu was a visiting scholar at University College London (UCL) Faculty of Laws, UK, in 2004-2005, at University of Washington (UW) School of Marine Affairs, US, from September to November in 2007. Professor Zhu was a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard Law School in academic year of 2012-2013.
