On the 12th of November 2018 the Xiamen Law School in collaboration with the International Students Union of the Law School organised an educative trip to the Xiamen Intermediate Law Court. The trip was patronised by 16 students from both the mainstream and exchange categories of the law school in the field of international law and civil & commercial law.

We left the school at 3pm and were warmly received at the law court by legal secretaries who were specifically allocated for our visitation. They took us for a walk on the legal street where we learnt the very foundations of law in China and some important principles that have transcended time within the legal spheres of the land.

We ended up in the “Garden of law”, a garden that is enriched with legal artwork for the purpose of enriching the knowledge of all and sundry. The trip was marked with heightened interaction as the students asked many questions which were duly responded to for a better understanding of the Chinese legal system.

At the pinnacle of our visit the team was escorted into the court and shown around. Specific time was spent at the reports department where further explanation was provided as per how cases were filed in Chinese courts. We were also taken round to see the mediation rooms and some other offices of the law court.

The visitation ended at 5pm and the team had dinner together at the law school canteen. The trip was very educative and entertaining. The leadership of the Law school and the International students union are looking forward to organizing more of such trips so as to ensure the all-round development of the students of the law school. We believe in excellence hence the provision of the best for our students.
