The visit by John Smagula, Executive Director of Greater China Office, Temple University

On the morning of Nov.12, John Smagula, executive director of greater China office and assosicate professor of Temple University, visited our school. Professor Xu Chongli and Professor Zhu Yansheng attended the meeting.

Prof. Xu is the alumnus of Temple University. In October, he attended the 2015 Annual Meeting of “Rule of Law and Legal Education Forum” hosted by the Law Education Research Association of China together with Mr. John Smagula and made speech separately. Prof. Xu extended his warm welcome to Mr. Smagula and expressed the willingness of XMU law school to establish a long-term and stable collaboration with Temple and thus promoting the internationalization of both law schools.

 

Prof. Zhu discussed with Mr. Smagula with the possible cooperation way, such as students exchange, joint degree and visiting scholar. Mr. Smagula showed great interest in the International Master Program in Chinese Law and the three international summer schools of XMU law school (international law, international tax law and international intellectual property law) and would like to promote them among the students in Temple University. He also extended sincere welcome to the faculty of XMU law school to make research or pursue LL.M degree. Mr. Smagula also gave an emphasis on the promotion of the Tsinghua&Temple Master of Laws Program.

Introduction of Temple University

Temple University is a public university established in 1888 with a history of over 100 years. It hosts 28,068 undergraduates in the 330-acre campus. Temple University ranks 115 among the universities in America according to the US News & World Report of 2014.
