On April 5th, President Michael Jäckel, director of Confucius institute Liang Yong, Chinese director of Confucius Li Yi paid a visit to our school. Vice Dean Professor Zhu Yansheng welcomed the guests.
Trier University and Xiamen University have a profound cooperative tie with each other in terms of Confucius institute, students exchange, language, sinology since the university-level cooperation agreement was signed in July of 2007. This was the first visit of president of Trier University to law school. The two sides will, on the basis of the productive university-level cooperation, seek more opportunities of collaboration with each other.
Vice Dean Zhu extended his warm welcome to the visit of Trier University and sided with the proposal to arrange a summer school in Chinese law for the German students in Trier, especially those already with Chinese language and legal study experience. He said that the oriented Chinese law summer school will serve as a bridge to foster the students’ understanding of Chinese law and culture and thus to enhance our collaboration between two universities.
After the meeting, the delegate of Trier University attended the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road University President Forum”.
