Teleconference with Faculty of Law, Southampton University

On 16:00 November 25, a teleconference was held in Room 601 between School of Law, Xiamen University and Faculty of Law, University of Southampton. Vice Dean Sarah Nield, Vice Dean Zhu Yansheng, Dr. Zhang Jingbo, Ms. Dong Xiaoqing attended the meeting.

It was the second time XMU law school applied video conference system to make contacts with the overseas institutions, saving time of journey on one hand and increasing the efficiency on the other hand.

The two sides discussed the possibilities of cooperation on many aspects regarding student exchange, dual degree and summer program and reached preliminary consensus of the content of MOU.

On October 16, XMU law school also made contacts with New Orleans Loyola University via teleconferencing system and has entered into phase of signing MOU and student exchange agreement right now.

The University of Southampton has a distinguished heritage that can be traced back to the creation of the Hartley Institution in 1862. Today, the University is already one of the top 15 research universities in the UK and has achieved consistently high scores for its teaching and learning activities.

The University of Southampton is a member of the Russell Group of research universities and the Worldwide Universities Network. It currently has over 17,000 undergraduate and 7,000 postgraduate students, making it the largest university by higher education students in the South East region. The main campus is located in the Highfield area of Southampton. Four other campuses are located throughout the city alongside the School of Art based in nearby Winchester.
