On April 20, 2017, XMU Law School Dean Professor Song Fangqing attended the pact-signing ceremony organized by the third circuit court of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) in nanjing and also the conference on the lawyers’ basic qualification.
The deputy party secretary and vice dean of the SPC, party secretary and president of the third circuit court, He Tingjiang was present and delivered significant speech, with also the attending of the leaders and interns from southeast university, Nanjing Normal University, Soochow University, East China University of Politics and Law, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University,Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, East China Normal University, Zhejiang University, Nanchang University.

This signing ceremony was an implementation of agreement about the cooperation pact and selection rules of the first batch of interns in 2017 the leaders of the law schools from east china and the third circuit court had on the seminar held by the third circuit court on March 24.
The pact includes building systems on legal interns, legal volunteer, co-operation project research, the exchange-visiting, and regular interactive-training program.
After carefully assessment, 23 postgraduates and 10 undergraduates became the first batch of legal interns in the third circuit court, the postgraduate Kang Mingjie from XMU Law School school was also one of them.
In the ceremony, president of the third circuit court, He Tingjiang first thanked the participants, then expressed his expectation to the interns by giving ten warm suggestions.The presiding judges addressed speeches, saying they would do whatever they can to help the interns.
In the seminar about the lawyers’ basic literacy, the dean of emu law school Prof. Song Fangqing made her speeches on two points, one is “the definition of lawyer” and other is ”what’s the basic literacy of a lawyer”. Furthermore, Prof. Song also stress that colleges’ significant role in training lawyers. In the recent years, XMU Law Schoo dedicated in the reformation of legal cultivation under the goals of constructing the national legal system, lying more and more attention on the cultivation of students’ practical ability .
XIAMEN university has set up plenty of practice platforms and maintain close communication with government departments, the NPC, legal departments, and legal service departments.
After the seminar, the Dean Professor Song Fangqing visited the dominated room of the interns and showed concern about the student. Recently, xiamen university has thoroughly study the speech given by General Secretary Xi Jinping during the investigation of china university of political science and law. The signing with the third circuit court of the SPC was a great implement of the instructions made by president xi, which is of great significance in facilitating the communication between our school and legal practice sector.
