On November 15, 2016, Professor James Davey, admissions director of graduate program in Southampton University Law School and Doctor Jenny Jingbo visited our law school for the detailed discussion into the signed agreements between both sides and a lecture on the Insurance Act 2015 and Marine Insurance to the students. Vice Dean Professor Zhu Yansheng welcomed the guests.
This March, the two law schools have signed agreements on student exchange, study abroad and admissions. During the meeting, they made a further discussion on how to proceed on the agreements and the modules offered by the two law schools. They also talked about the possibility to send faculty members for co-research and to start a summer program in Chinese law next summer by XMU law school for students from the University of Southampton.
In the afternoon, Professor James Davey extended a lecture on The Insurance Act 2015 and Marine Insurance & Introduction to Southampton and English Legal Study.
There are two parts of the lecture. In the first part, Professor Davey introduced the Insurance Act 2015 and its change from the former one. In the second part, he made an introduction of the academic philosophy and the learning environment in the University of Southampton.
