On September 27, the closing ceremony of the 2016 Xiamen-Trier Summer Program in Chinese Law was held in Room 419 of School of Law, Xiamen University. Dean Professor Song Fangqing attended the ceremony. Vice Dean Professor Zhu Yansheng Hosted it. 12 students from Trier University of Germany completed the 10-day lectures in Xiamen and will continue the program in Beijing for 2 days.

Afterwards, Vice Dean Zhu Yansheng delivered a summary speech. He expressed his gratitude to all the teachers, students and volunteers for their endeavor for the success of the program and hoped that the two law schools of Trier University and Xiamen University would have more exchange among their students and wished a happy stay of the students in Beijing.
Dean Song Fangqing expressed her hope to build on the summer program to foster a long-term and effective partnership with each other in terms of research, faculty and student exchange.
The students also expressed their gratitude for the preparedness of Xiamen University Law School and the precious opportunity for them to better understand the Chinese Law and culture. They would study harder about Chinese Law, it language and culture when go back to Germany.
2016.9.19 Opening Ceremony
On the morning of September 19 2016, the first Xiamen-Trier Summer Program in Chinese Law was open in the Xiamen University Law School. Vice President Zhan Xinli, Director Mao Tongwen from the Southern Base of Confucius Institute Headquarters Office of Confucius Institute Affairs, Chinese Dean Li Yi from Confucius Institute of Trier University, Dean of Law School Professor Song Fangqing, all the attendees and volunteers attended the opening ceremony. Vice Dean Professor Zhu Yansheng hosted the ceremony.

2016.9.23 Visit to the Jimei People’s Court
The fourth day was started with a visit to the District intermediate people’s court of Xiamen in Jimei. The visit which proved more sensitizing and educative gave a first-hand knowledge of the Chinese legal system to the participants. Coupled with emotions of joy and surprise the visit to the court was started off well when participants realized the tour guide was a very young judge to the surprise of many. Answering every question to satisfaction, the Judge who showed the participants around the court was not only engaging but at best exuded knowledge on the Chinese legal system and judicial operations. The tour ended with a lovely tea party at the cafeteria of the district intermediate people’s court.
