Chinese tea is famous all over the world. After Sunday’s class about Chinese tea culture, our friends from Germany may change their view that coffee is their best drinks.
We invited Ms. Lin and Ms. Xiaoyu to introduce some basic information and the class was greatly well-organized. First section was the picture-showing. Ms. Lin chose the 6 most famous kinds of tea green tea, black tea, dark tea, white tea, yellow tea and Oolong tea to show their leaves and different effects. Surprised by so many types and somehow miraculous effects, these cute German students couldn’t stop giving their admirations.
After a small break, the exciting part came as Ms. Xiaoyu would carefully show them how to make teas with boiling water and what are the proper postures when tasting. Ms. Xiaoyu slowly showed every step. How to take the pottery up? When to put the leaves into? How long should we wait before drinking? Every process has its own meaning and the observing is just our respect to our traditional tea culture.
Finally, Ms. Xiaoyu invited the students to taste Tieguanying tea she has just made. With a light fragrant of leaves, words failed to express how wonderful it tasted.
Just as Ms. Lin said in class, learning tea will teach the ladies to be elegent and men will became gentle and calm. Learning a country’s traditional culture is significant. Hope these students will treasure this unforgettable experience.
In the afternoon, the students from Trier University went to the local Chinese families for dinner to experience more about the Chinese cuisine and culture.
