On the afternoon of March 9, Professor René Lindstädt, Head of Law School in Cardiff University and Mrs. He Li, International Officer visited law school and had a meeting with Dean Professor Song Fangqing about possibilities in collaborated academic programs and exchange.
Professor Song welcomed the guests from Cardiff University on behalf of Xiamen University Law School and introduced the School’s history, disciplines, academic programs and international cooperation. Professor René Lindstädt then gave introduction of Cardiff University Law School and proposed suggestions of the possible collaboration ways.
Professor Song Fangqing said that two PhD candidates would visit Cardiff as visiting scholar which she believed would be a good start of collaboration between two schools. Xiamen and Cardiff are two sister cities while Xiamen University and Cardiff University remain intensive cooperation. The two law schools also have a good match in many ways. Professor Song believed that the two law schools would witness good prospect of cooperation.
During the meeting two sides reached initial agreement in collaborative cultivation, joint research and faculty and students exchange. They designated liaison officers in order to come to an agreement soon.
Cardiff University is one of the universities in UK which shares closest relationships with Xiamen University. The two universities co-established joint research fund of 1.2 million pounds to finance the exchange and visit of faculties and post doctor researchers in wish of promoting the research cooperation in fields of common interest.
