On the afternoon March 22nd, a visiting group from Kainan University (KU for short), Taiwan, comprising Prof. Chen Bingliang, dean of KU law school, as well as other 47 students and teachers, paid an academic visit to XMU Law School. They were given a grand reception at Room 138 by Prof. Zhu Xiaoqin, Vice Dean of XMU Law School, Zhang Wei, Deputy Party Secretary, Gao Bin, Secretary of Youth League Committee, Lin Xvrong, Deputy Secretary of Youth League Committee, and Dong Xiaoqing, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, as well as other 10 undergraduate law students.
Vice Dean Zhu gave them a warm welcome as well as a brief introduction to XMU Law School’s profile in the first place, and then she expressed her expectation for further visits from KU in order to boost the interaction between KU and XMU students, as well as mutual understanding of each other.
Prof. Chen was grateful to XMU Law School for its reception, and said that he used to study in Fudan University for many years and therefore had a comprehensive knowledge of mainland China. He also said he had been looking forward to coming to XMU for a long time. Prof. Chen believed that this trip was a great chance for those who came to mainland China for the first time to see for themselves what XMU was like.
Afterwards, Mr. Gao shared the information concerning XMU Law School graduate students’ job selection in recent years, and status about students from Hong Kong and Macau currently studying in XMU Law School. After that, Ms. Dong presented KU visiting group the current curriculum and exchange programs of XMU Law School.
During the conversation, students raised questions about graduates’ job selection, plus qualifications and expenses for Taiwan students to study in mainland China. Through the conversation, Taiwan students acquired further knowledge about higher education status in mainland China.
